Thank you for considering Troup Cub Scouts. We are glad you’re here.
We meet at the First United Methodist Church, 201 E. Duval St. in Troup,
Texas. It is located directly across the street from the police department.

At each meeting we have playtime, say the Pledge of Allegiance, have "Show
and Tell," learn about themed stories, and make crafts.
We have weekly dues to help with the cost of supplies, crafts and snacks.
One parent/guardian is required to attend every meeting with 1st graders, Tiger Cubs.

We take field trips to various locations. We have been to the symphony,
newspaper office, dentist office, fire station, bank, gone fishing and picnicking.
We have learned many things, too.

Cub Scouting’s 12 Core Values

12.Responsibility: Fulfilling our duty to God, country, other people and ourselves.

 Youth Protection Training
Each Cub Scout must have both parents/guardians to complete the "Youth
Protection Training" online course. If another adult will be responsible for your Cub...

that person will also be required to take the course and submit a completion certificate to the Cub Master.

This course is taken online through the East
Texas Scouts website listed below. As you complete the course, you can print off
a certificate. I will need a copy of this certificate to keep on file. This
course should be completed within 1 month of joining Cub Scouts. A computer is
available through the downtown Troup Library with internet access. Please check
with the librarians for access hours. 903-842-3101.

Uniforms
The Cubs need the uniform shirt, (be sure to get it a little bit big…the
shirt will be used through the "Bear Cub" program-3rd
grade.) They will also need the cap, neckerchief (bandana), the
neckerchief slide (bolo), and appropriate patches:

1."World Scout Crest Emblem,"
2."Council Shoulder Insignia," and
3."Den Numerals," (our number is "0375")
The Council Store also sells pants, belts, socks and shoes. We
do not require these items. Cubs are allowed to wear dark blue
pants, shorts or jeans-no "ratty" looks or holes.

Cubs should wear their Cub Scout uniforms to all meetings and field trips within a month.
